3 Reasons Xamarin Will Be a Major Player in App Development

If you are not a Xamarin developer creating mobile apps for multiple platforms, you probably know very little about the
two core products offered by Xamarin. But that should change. The company known as Xamarin is on the verge of
becoming one of the most important major players in future mobile app development. Developers already certified in
the company's two major products have a definitive advantage over competitors who remain uncertified.

For the uninitiated, Xamarin is a technology company that produces a core set of products for mobile app development.
Those products are known as Xamarin Platform and Xamarin Test Cloud. The former is arguably the more important of
the two for day-to-day development of mobile apps. Xamarin Platform makes it possible for app developers to more
easily and quickly create apps that work equally well on iOS, Android, and Windows.

If you are not yet certified as a Xamarin developer, you should strongly consider getting certified. Here are three reasons
Xamarin will be a major player in app development and, quite possibly, your future as a developer:

1. Xamarin Is Now Microsoft Property

Microsoft has spent a small fortune on its Windows 10 project, with every intention of eventually creating a harmonious
OS that will create a seamless experience regardless of the device on which it is used. They have no intention of
abandoning their goals despite the lackluster performance of Windows 10's initial release. In order to advance their
vision of a universal OS and interface, Microsoft just spent $400 million to acquire Xamarin.

Now that Xamarin is Microsoft property, you can bet the Redmond-based company will deploy all of its resources to
make sure Xamarin Platform becomes the prominent platform for developing apps. And even if they do not achieve
market dominance, you can certainly bet they will have Xamarin in the thick of things for years to come.

2. Xamarin Make Development More Efficient

The strength of Xamarin Platform is undoubtedly its ease-of-use for developing cross-platform apps that do not require
a ton of specialized coding in the user interface arena. Not having to worry about different screen sizes, for example,
makes the job of the Xamarin developer so much easier. It also makes development more efficient because it allows
developers to concentrate almost all of their energies on nuts and bolts.

3. Xamarin Requires a Single Language

Along with a reduced need to worry about user interface issues, Xamarin developers love the fact that they need only
know a single language to effectively code: C#. Xamarin Platform allows the developer to do nearly all of his/her heavy
lifting in C# with the knowledge that all, or most, of the constructed code will be shareable across Android, iOS, and
Windows.

Developers need only invest a small amount of effort in creating front-end specifics that cannot be carried across
multiple platforms. But the amount of work involved in doing so is minimal when compared to the entire process of
developing an app for multiple platforms.

Love it or hate it, Microsoft has managed to pull off a tremendous coup with the acquisition of Xamarin. And because
they have done so, they will make the world of cross-platform app development better for it.

Companies looking to hire app developers to create their mobile tools would do well to look specifically for a certified
Xamarin developer. A certified developer is in the best position to deliver a finished product that works on all three
major platforms at a cost that should be significantly less than developing for all three separately.
