How using an iPad POS will Increase Retail Store Sales Last week I was unpacking a box that was in storage and the newspaper that protected my treasures actually became treasures themselves. They were ads from Best Buy circa 1997 and showed the amazing“new” cell phones that were available. So what’s the point of my nostalgia? I can’t believe how far we’ve come in almost 20 years. Instead of carrying something the size of a brick that allows you to make portable calls, we are now able to call, text, manage our exercise routines, access millions of songs and movies, get directions for any location in the world, blow our budgets with the power of online shopping, connect with a long lost friend via social media, and browse through millions of apps. Who would have dreamed that any of this would be possible? (And the average cell phone weighs in at 3.5 oz and has a talk time of about 4 hours if you were wondering.) While cell phones are amazing tools, let’s go one step further and talk about the iPad. I went to my hair stylist last week and she literally rents a booth and runs her business with just her iPad. By using a simple iPad POS, she schedules appointments, accepts credit card payments, offers loyalty coupons, monitors sales and product inventory, posts before and after pictures on social media and even plays movies for her daughter when her child care falls through.
