Description

Ce rapport analyse les effets que produiraient une mise en oeuvre et un respect plus efficace de la législation communautaire sur les déchets et démontre que les avantages seraient considérables. A titre d'exemple, il examine les actions menées à Chypre, en Allemagne, en Irlande, en Italie et aux Pays-Bas afin de mettre en évidence les avantages économiques, financiers et sociaux pour les Etats membres. Il plaide aussi pour une meilleure utilisation du principe pollueur/payeur et pour un recours accru aux instruments économiques tels que l'augmentation des coûts de l'élimination des déchets. Il conclut sur le manque manifeste d'informations sur les déchets.
