La tendance vers l'urbanisation progresse et plus de la moitié de la population mondiale vit dans les villes (cinq milliards sur huit en 2030). Comment cette tendance est-elle conciliable avec les espoirs suscités par la Conférence des Nations-Unies pour le développement durable 2012 et l'engagement de l'Union européenne vers une croissance intelligente, durable et solidaire d'ici 2020 ?
Ce rapport examine les enjeux de l'urbanisation en mettant l'accent sur la concentration des besoins et des services, les modèles migratoires en Europe, les nouvelles formes de pauvreté et d'exclusion, la protection sociale, l'innovation sociale, la planification urbaine "verte".
