RÉSUMÉ : La focalisation a pour fonction la rhématisation d'un terme ou d'un circonstant d'une relation predicative. Dans un énoncé focalisé, l'assertion porte sur l'identification du terme focalisé, la relation predicative elle-même restant hors assertion. Dans cet article, on explore les marques formelles de la focalisation: position syntaxique, morphèmes d'identification, conjugaisons spécifiques. Le fonctionnement sémantique de la focalisation est également abordé en réfutant les notions d'emphase, ancien, présupposé, et contraste.
Abstract : Focus functions as the rhematization of a term or circumstance in a predicative relation. What is asserted in an utterance with focus is the identification of the focus, while the predicative relation itself remains outside the scope of assertion, In this paper, the formal exponents of focus are studied : word order, identifying morphemes, alternative conjugations. It is further argued that the concepts of emphasis, old or presupposed information, and contrast are not adequate to account for the semantics of focus.
