Thisflipchartisdesignedtobetwofold.Districtinformationwillbeontheback side.Thefrontsidewillhaveschoolspecificinformationincludingyourschool emergencyresponseproceduresandsitemapsdetailingevacuationroutes, assemblyareas,andshelter‐in‐placeprocedures. Inanyemergencyalwaystrytoremaincalmandrational.Thefollowing proceduresaretobeusedasaguidetohelpyoudealwithanemergency.An importantitemtouseinanemergencyistheschooldistrictphotoidentification. Itwillhelpidentifyyouandotherdistrictemployeesthatmaybedispatchedto assistwiththesituation.Remember,notwoemergencieswilleverbethesame; socommonsensemustprevail. Note:Telephonelinesneedtoremainopentodealwiththeemergency; otherwisethesystemwillbeoverloadedandcouldpreventemergencyfirst respondersfromusingtheiremergencycommunicationdevices. PlanDescription

Communicationisacriticalpartofemergencymanagement.LCSD#1hasacquired thetechnologytocoordinateandintegratecommunicationswithstate,localand federalagencies,aswellasbetweenourschoolsandthehomesofourstudents. Thefollowingrapidcommunicationsystemsareinplace: WyoLinkisanimmediateradiocommunicationsystemwhichpermitsdiscussion betweendifferentgroupsofpeoplethatwouldrespondtoanemergency;i.e., policetofire,schoolpersonneltofireand/orlawenforcement,etc.Thissystem canoperateintheeventthatothersystemsareinoperable.Thisalsoallowsfor increasedcoverageforoperationalcommunicationsforbusesandothervehicles usedtotransportstudents. Arapidcommunication/notificationsystemthatisdesignedtocontactstudents, parentsandstaffmembersviatelephone,email,andtextmessagewithinamatter ofminutesinthecaseofanemergencysituation.Thissystemcanalsobeusedto dispatchweather‐relatedclosures,emergencyannouncements,schoolspecific messages,lunchnotifications,andstudentabsences,tonameafewpossibilities. WeTipisanationwideschoolsafetyresourcedesignedtoprovideawayfor studentsandstafftoanonymouslygiveinformationregardingschoolcrime;e.g., weaponsoncampus,drugsalesand/ortraffickingatschool,schoolarsonfires, graffitiandvandalism.Signsandpostersareavisiblewarningthatschoolshavea zerotoleranceforcrime.ToaccessWe‐Tipdial800‐78‐CRIME(27463)or www.wetip.com .
