Thisflipchartisdesignedtobetwofold.Districtinformationwillbeonthebackside.Thefrontsidewillhaveschoolspecificinformationincludingyourschoolemergencyresponseproceduresandsitemapsdetailingevacuationroutes,assemblyareas,andshelterinplaceprocedures.Inanyemergencyalwaystrytoremaincalmandrational.Thefollowingproceduresaretobeusedasaguidetohelpyoudealwithanemergency.Animportantitemtouseinanemergencyistheschooldistrictphotoidentification.Itwillhelpidentifyyouandotherdistrictemployeesthatmaybedispatchedtoassistwiththesituation.Remember,notwoemergencieswilleverbethesame;socommonsensemustprevail.Note:Telephonelinesneedtoremainopentodealwiththeemergency;otherwisethesystemwillbeoverloadedandcouldpreventemergencyfirstrespondersfromusingtheiremergencycommunicationdevices.PlanDescription
Communicationisacriticalpartofemergencymanagement.LCSD#1hasacquiredthetechnologytocoordinateandintegratecommunicationswithstate,localandfederalagencies,aswellasbetweenourschoolsandthehomesofourstudents.Thefollowingrapidcommunicationsystemsareinplace:WyoLinkisanimmediateradiocommunicationsystemwhichpermitsdiscussionbetweendifferentgroupsofpeoplethatwouldrespondtoanemergency;i.e.,policetofire,schoolpersonneltofireand/orlawenforcement,etc.Thissystemcanoperateintheeventthatothersystemsareinoperable.Thisalsoallowsforincreasedcoverageforoperationalcommunicationsforbusesandothervehiclesusedtotransportstudents.Arapidcommunication/notificationsystemthatisdesignedtocontactstudents,parentsandstaffmembersviatelephone,email,andtextmessagewithinamatterofminutesinthecaseofanemergencysituation.Thissystemcanalsobeusedtodispatchweatherrelatedclosures,emergencyannouncements,schoolspecificmessages,lunchnotifications,andstudentabsences,tonameafewpossibilities.WeTipisanationwideschoolsafetyresourcedesignedtoprovideawayforstudentsandstafftoanonymouslygiveinformationregardingschoolcrime;e.g.,weaponsoncampus,drugsalesand/ortraffickingatschool,schoolarsonfires,graffitiandvandalism.Signsandpostersareavisiblewarningthatschoolshaveazerotoleranceforcrime.ToaccessWeTipdial80078CRIME(27463)orwww.wetip.com.Communication
