1IMPROVE COMMUNICATIONS BETWEEN PLAYERS. SECTION A - OBJECTIVES FOR THESE NOTES 1. These notes aim to - IMPROVE COMMUNICATIONS BETWEEN BOWLS PLAYERS. 2. They do so by achieving the following objectives - (a) Examine actual communications noted during many different actual games. (b) Comment on each communication (c) Suggest better communications. 3. However People (including Bowls Players) vary in their attitude to the communications that may help or hinder their performance. Thus some Readers will disagree with the criticisms made and/or the suggested improvements. SECTION B – IMPROVE THE CALLS MADE BY SKIPPERS. OBJECTIVES OF THIS SECTION. . 4. These notes aim to - (a) Encourage Skippers to give more attention to the calls they make. (b) Encourage Players to recognise vague and unclear calls and ask questions to clarify just what the Skipper wants. (However some Players like to receive a vague/unclear call so that they can play the shot they to play. In this case, such Players have an excuse for not doing what they suspect the Skipper wants. Further these Players will reject some of the suggestions made in these notes) TWO BROAD OBJECTIVES OF CALLS FROM SKIPPERS. 5. Skippers should want their Players to (a) Know exactly the shot they want them to play OR (b) Know that the Players can play their own shot in all or some aspects. 6.
