Feather soft, hand painted

Merino Perfection from Punta

Yarn makes knitting this cowl a

real pleasure!

For fun, we added a strand of

Rowan Kidsilk Mohair to give

the stitches a slight halo.

Materials:

1 skein Punta Merino Perfection Hand Dyed

Needles:

5mm (US 8) 60cm (24”) circular

Optional: Use a 5.5mm (US 9) needle and a laceweight mohair stranded along with Merino

Perfection

Tension is not critical to this project

Finished Measurements:

Circumference: 36”

Depth: 8.5”

Cast on 126 sts (120 sts if using 5.5mm needle and a laceweight mohair). Join into the

round. Work in Seed Stitch for 3 rounds as follows:

Rnd 1: *K1, P1* repeat to end of round.

Rnd 2: *P1, K1* repeat to end of round.

Rnd 3: As Rnd 1

Place a marker at the beginning of round and slip it as each round is completed. Work

remainder of cowl as follows:

Rnd 1: *yo, slip next 2 sts together knitwise, K1, pass slipped sts over, yo, K3* repeat to end

of round

Rnd 2: Knit

Rnd 3: *K3, yo, slip next 2 sts together knitwise, K1, pass slipped sts over, yo* repeat to end

of round

Rnd 4: Knit

When cowl measures 8.5", work 3 rounds in Seed Stitch as before. Cast off.
