Patriotic Drink Cozies

With both Canadian and American versions,

this pattern is perfect for either Canada Day

or the Fourth of July.

Materials:

Approximately 20g of worsted-weight yarn in

desired colours (eg. Red and white, or red,

white and blue)

4mm crochet hook

darning needle

Canadian Drink Cozy: MC will be red

American Drink Cozy: MC will be blue

Ch 5 using MC. Sl st to form a ring.

10 sc in the middle of the ring, sl st to join.

Note: This circle will form the base of the drink cozy, so do as many of the following increase

rounds as necessary to achieve desired circumference. This circle should be the same size as

(or slightly smaller than) the base of the bottle, can, or glass it will be covering.

Round 1: 2 sc in each st. 20sts.

Round 2: *2 sc in next st, sc.* Rep to end of round. 30sts.

Round 3: *sc in each of next 2 sts, 2 sc in next st.* Rep to end of round. 40sts.

Round 4: *2 sc in next st, sc in each of next 3 sts.* Rep to end of round. 50sts.

Sc in each st for 3 rounds.

Dc in each st for 1 round.

Canadian drink cozy:

dc 5 rounds in white, then 2 rounds in red. Using darning needle and red

yarn, embroider a maple leaf on the white section of the cozy.

American drink cozy:

dc 7 rounds, alternating rounds in white, red and blue yarn as desired.
