Springy Cowl

This pattern makes a lovely, close-fitting cowl that is

warm and soft, and can be pulled up over the mouth

and nose when it's windy. Pattern is easily adapted to

different sizes, and can be made into a looser-fitting

cowl as well.

Materials:

•

Pair of 6mm needles

•

2 skeins of M & K Alpaca yarn (for head

circumference up to 21 inches. For a larger-

sized head, a third skein of yarn is required)

•

Darning needle

Instructions:

•

Cast on 42 sts.

•

Row 1: *K2, P2. Repeat from * to last 2 sts. K2.

•

Row 2: *P2, K2. Repeat from * to last 2 sts. P2.

•

Repeat the last 2 rows until the length (measured from cast-on edge) is equal to the

circumference of your head, minus 1 inch. For a looser-fitting cowl, simply knit until

the work is longer.

•

Cast off. Seam the cast-on edge together with the cast-off edge. Enjoy!
