Tonight’s Public Information Meeting presents alternative designs for three segments of the bypass corridor between US 41 and WIS 23:

  

West – US 41/US 151 Interchange Area Middle – County V/US 45 Area East – US 151/WIS 23 Interchange Area

Exhibits explaining these alternatives are grouped by these three segments. The alternative concepts were developed through stakeholder meetings and an independent value planning study.

We are interested in your observations and comments about these alternatives. Please use the colored comment forms to share your knowledge with us.

Specifically, we are interested in your comments about:

The advantages and disadvantages of each alternative. The best alternative for each segment. Other observations and opinions about the alternatives that will help us select the best alternatives for the US 151 bypass, the surrounding communities, and the public in general.

West Segment – The US 41 / US 151 Interchange Area

In the future, the existing US 41/US 151 service interchange is planned to be converted as a system interchange. There are two alternatives associated with this planned system interchange at the west segment:

 

The first alternative provides an additional east-west local road over US 41. The second alternative provides the same additional east-west local road, and a “partial cloverleaf” interchange to allow connections between this new road and US 41 in all directions.

Middle Segment – The County V / US 45 Area

The Middle Segment has three alternatives:

•Alternative A3 provides a new interchange at County V and removes the US 45 jug-handle ramps (US 45 overpass to remain). An overpass would be constructed at Martin Road over US 151. •Alternative D2 provides a new interchange between County V and US 45 and removes the US 45 jug-handle ramps (US 45 overpass to remain). An overpass would be constructed at Martin Road over US 151. It has not yet been determined whether existing County V would have an overpass. •Alternative B1 modifies the ramp design of the interchange at US 45 and provides County V with an overpass. An overpass would be constructed at Martin Road over US 151.

East Segment – The US 151/WIS 23 Interchange Area

The east segment has three alternatives: •Alternative 23-1 provides system free-flow ramps connecting northbound US 151 to eastbound WIS 23 and westbound WIS 23 to southbound US 151 located southeast of the current interchange. The existing US 151/WIS 23 diamond interchange would remain. County T would have an overpass. •Alternative 23-2 provides system free-flow ramps connecting northbound US 151 to eastbound WIS 23 and westbound WIS 23 to southbound US 151 located over the current interchange. The existing US 151/WIS 23 diamond interchange would remain. County T would have an overpass. •Alternative 23-7 provides a cross-country system connection of US 151 to WIS 23 (and vise versa) well south of existing WIS 23. The existing US 151/WIS 23 diamond interchange would remain. County T would have an overpass. Furthermore, this alternative provides reasonable opportunity for access between County T and US 151.
