Troy School District Project Specifications – Playground Safety Audit Project Scope oProvide all labor, materials, equipment, and services required in completing a Safety Audit of all playground equipment district wide. Quality Assurance oShall be a firm established in the field of playground inspections for no less than three (3) years. oInspector (s) shall be a certified member in good standing with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) and/or National Playground Safety Inspectors (NPSI) or an organization that have the same high standards and requirements? oSubmit a list of at least three completed projects of similar magnitude and complexity (contact names and phone numbers). oProvide written documentation outlining the steps your organization will take to complete the inspections (timeline, inspector (s) name, documentation format). Inspection: oInspection should consist of thorough examination of all playground equipment, surrounding surface conditions and borders.Evaluate each piece of equipment relative to the American with Disabilities Act (ADA), Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) guidelines and the American Society for Testing Materials (ASTM) standards F-1487-01. oList any visibleProvide a complete inventory of each piece of equipment. identification or known information regarding the equipment such as manufacturers name, date of installation, description of equipment, model numbers, etc. oProvide a complete set of photographs (digital / color) of each piece of equipment inspected. Alsoprovide a site map identifying the location of each piece of equipment. oTag (stainless steel) each individual structure with an identification number. Check with owner’s representative for more information concerning this step of the project. oReport in typed format to the Owner’s Representative (Kenneth D. Miller – Director of Operations) the overall conditions and any discrepancies noted during the inspection.Also provide future recommendations, testing requirements and cost estimates for adding new equipment installed to the Safety Audit report. Security Issues: oThe contractor will be solely responsible for the security of all materials and/or equipment utilized. oThe inspectors should have identification badges on at all times and will be required to check in at the main office before entering the playground area during normal school hours.
