The creation of an association (the Natural Hazards Mission) within the technical groups of the insurance profession is a response to the wish of insurance companies to position themselves amongst the different actors which, long with government authorities, intervene in risk management. The aim is none less than to ensure the optimal running of the system of risk management in France, notably by improving knowledge of the economic issues related to natural hazards.
