What is Crashport?

 Benchmark-Crashportpartnership combines expert testimony with auto accident analysis services.  Crashportand Benchmark Medical Consultants have an- nounced a new strategic relationship that will combine Crashport’s process for evaluating auto injury claims with Benchmark’s expert witness services.  Insurersand others using Crashport’s injury risk analysis ser- vice will have access to Benchmark’s network of more than 1,400 physicians and scientists who will be trained in the use of Crash- port’s models.  “Thiscoordination and combination of services will make it easier for insurers to protect their honest customers from the sub- stantial costs created by those who file fraudulent or inflated claims,” said Benchmark president and orthopedic surgeon John Chase M.D., FACS.  Crashport’sservice determines the scientific probability of in- jury from vehicle accidents, using sophisticated mathematical computer models and extensive data from controlled crash testing to determine how much shock or impact a passenger sustained.  “Crashport’scomputer models finally answer the question of how the vehicle impact truly affected the passenger. How did the person’s body move?What were the forces they experienced? Physicians have never had this kind of information before, so it’s a powerful tool. We can take Crashport’s analyses and computer simulations, and Benchmark’s highly qualified independent medi- cal and scientific experts can explain to juries what it all means in medical terms,” said Chase.  “Thedays of evaluating injury claims by looking at photos of bent fenders are coming to a close,” said John Burge, CEO of Crashport.  “Causesof auto injuries are far too complex for the methods traditionally used for evaluating claims. Being able to make decisions on these claims more quickly and with more confi- dence can speed payment and streamline the process, resulting in savings to the company,” he said.  Byusing Crashport’s analysis services backed up by Bench- mark’s medical and scientific expert testimony services, insurers can protect themselves not only from dishonest claims, but also from excessive litigation and charges of “bad faith,” he said.
