eurostat PUBUSFE No.11/1992 Human resources in Europe at the dawn of the 21st century - Conference proceedings To determine the risks and challenges affecting human resources in the European Community at the dawn of the next century, to analyse, with the help of scientists, their demographic, economic and sociological components, and to discuss, with the help of political and economic decision-makers, strategies to be implemented now: these are the three aims of this Conference, organized at the initiative of Eurostat with the assistance of the Government of the Grand-Duchy of Luxembourg, the European Parliament and the Commission of the n Communities. The conference is firmly pluridisciplinary oriented. The first session dealt with Europe and Europeans at the dawn of the next century. The second session concentrated on demographic developments in order to pin-point trends, so that the human resources of tomorrow can be estimated. The third session established a link between strictly demographic resources, with which we familiarized ourselves during the second session, and human resources in their socio-economic dimension. The fourth session looked at the main trends in the labour market and its future structures, CONFERENCE PROCEEDINGS after which we dealt with the problem of matching ACTES DE LA CONFÉRENCE human resources and the labour market.
