Ecole Nationale Supérieure d’Electronique, Informatique et Radio- communications de Bordeaux -ENSEIRB

The Ecole Nationale Supérieure d’Électronique, Informatique et Radiocommunications de Bordeaux was established in 1920. It is authorized by the Commission des Titres d’Ingénieur. The school consists of 700 students, 65 professors and teacher - researchers, and 60 administrative and technical staff. The ENSEIRB trains engineering students in three disciplines: electronics, information technology, and telecommunications and awards the Engineering of Master degree E NSEIRB in each one of these fields. This degree can also be accomplished through alter- native experience and continuous training approved by the law of Validation des Acquis et de l’Expérience (VAE). The major disciplines at the ENSEIRB, representedby electronics, micro-electronics, information sciences, telecommunications, auto- matic control engineering, digital and image signal processing, are the key sectors of the new economy. As such, the ENSEIRB trains engineers who will know how to integrate these fields into high-tech companies.

The E NSEIRBprovides high-level scientific and technical training. This excellence is achieved thanks to its highly competent faculty, composed largely of teacher-researchers cooperating with many industry-wide staff who are leaders in their companies.

Research Research plays a central role at the school. Three laboratories with international standing are attached to the ENSEIRB, atthe Centre national de la recherche scientifique (CNRS) and with the University of Bordeaux. The IXL, the LaBRI and the LAPS provide the latest research projects and space for the school’s teacher-researchers. There are productive partnerships with French and foreign compa- nies; three research laboratories with international standing; techno- logy transfer from these laboratories to the industrial sector; student internships for a maximum of 14 months during the students’ educa- tion; important international dimension (more than 40 partnerships with foreign universities); a rich and diverse extra-curricular life (more than 40 clubs, 5 associations, school social gala, discussion groups…).

Location The E NSEIRB is loc ated on the university campus in Talence, near Bordeaux, the Atlantic Ocean, and the Pyrenees... All kinds of sports, cultural events and entertainment opportunities can be found in the area, which is only three hours from Paris on the bullet train, the TGV.
