ISSN 1022-6559 4 May 1998 The contents of this bulletin are based on RTD-News, updated every day, and other CORDIS databases TRAIN-IT Trainine of Information Technology Innovators TRAINIT is an ESPRIT project which aims to help stimulate startup companies generated from completed and ongoing projects of the ESPRIT programme. TRAINIT was launched in December 1997, as a pilot accompanying measure to the ESPRIT programme, and will run for two years. The project identities people with Innovative business ideas, who are or have been involved in ESPRIT projects, and who want to start up companies. These companies would market ESPRIT project results in the form of new technologies, products, services or new applications. TRAINIT aims to provide active advice, training and full support in the formulation of some 60 business plans, leading to the successful implementation of around 30. In effect, TRAINIT offers a "onestop training shop for IT startups" by providing: ■ Specific training in all aspects of starting up a technologyoriented company; ■ Advice in compiling the business plan; ■ Arranging the financial support through contacting banks and venture capitalists; ■ Assistance with the foundation process and overcoming bureaucratic hurdles.
