Pep Boys Launches Audio/Video InStore Marketing CampaignTire Business staff report & copyNEW YORK (June 23, 2008) Automotive aftermarket retailer Pep BoysManny, Moe & Jack has hired IOHI to provide an instore audio and video marketing campaign for the chain's 562 locations across the U.S. and Puerto Rico. Formerly known as Impressions On Hold, IOHI has implemented its "IOHI OnHold" overhead marketing messages and "IOHI Atmospheres" instore music products at all Pep Boys stores. All IOHIdesigned audio and video marketing campaigns are controlled from the IOHI corporate data center, the company said, effectively eliminating the need for manual intervention by Pep Boys employees at the store level. Both hardware operation and media transmission quality can be monitored by IOHI and reported to Pep Boys for quality assurance and returnoninvestment measurement, it added. IOHI said it will transmit both Spanish and English messaging into Pep Boys stores where appropriate and, after an extensive lifestyle and demographics analysis of Pep Boys' core clientele, will customize messages and music by market. Pep Boys recently switched to IOHI from a different music and message provider."IOHI does an outstanding job providing instore audio and video marketing for our stores, handling planning, execution, ongoing support and analysis. They understand what it takes to create the voice of our brand," said Scott Webb, senior vice president of merchandising and marketing for Pep Boys. The company's services range from onhold messaging to overhead music and digital video displays. Pep Boys has approximately 6,000 service bays in 35 states and Puerto Rico. Besides providing vehicle repair and maintenance, the company also serves the commercial auto parts delivery market.
