Focus on twopioneering hubs of growthin Switzerland
Aim: growth in cutting-edge sectors.
Switzerland is a market in which investments in high added-value technology are fundamental. After energy and pharmaceuticals, we decided to invest in the Medical Device and IT sectors, two essential business sectors for the group’s growth.
Since the start of 2014, we have already conducted some impressive Medical Device projects with our long-term clients in Switzerland and gained new clients.
We have also conducted a project in a major Swiss French bank in the development phase. This IT project is also a source of pride foragap2financial Switzerland; banking is one of the most prestigious sectors in Switzerland.
We now offer the same service level as experienced companies. Now that we have started, anything is possible!

10 YEARS ALREADY!
agap2 started out on its path 10 years ago, a path that is increasingly leading to the international market with new challenges to overcome.
The 3rd industrial revolution focused on IT and energy is speeding up innovation processes in an increasingly high-speed world.
To gain the leading position, we need to learn, listen, adapt and retain our ambition. The past 10 years have been a true success in human, entrepreneurial and technical terms. The next 10 years promise to be more exciting than ever: new stakes, new challenges, new businesses, new technologies, new cultures, etc.
Our adventure is only beginning.
I would like to wish you and your families all the best for the festive period!
OURPROJECTS
e u es orow tz reactor, a pro ect on aninternational scale! The JHR project, or Jules Horowitz reactor, is a material testing reactor project focusing on research on fuel behaviour. Involved in the project for one year now, I am responsible for pre-technical instruction for the electricity contract division. I study the power requirements on the site and their changes. Therefore, my work involves managing the interface with current developments, studying the markets impacted by these changes and drafting and updating technical documentation. A number of reactors are in operation in the world but some are due to shut down operation shortly. The JHR project will then take over and supply up to 50% of European radioactive element production!

Preventing hypercholesterolaemia (high blood cholesterol level)
When I arrived in September, I began a project for a pharmaceutical group (Vitry-sur-Seine) within the Quality Assurance department, focussing in particular on the management of changes to the production of a new monoclonal antibody. It concerns the prevention of hypercholesterolaemia (high blood cholesterol level) as well as the treatment of heterozygous familial hypercholesterolaemia (a hereditary illness). In partnership with an American company, the group put a manufacturing and quality control process in place for the new antibody, which had already been successfully manufactured on the American site. The American company is still adjusting theto improve production of the productprocess further Information about each change is sent to the Vitry site for impact and application analysis. My work consists of improving the flow of information exchanged, using new quality monitoring tools.

FOCUS
A head in the clouds
With the set-up of a private cloud, the agap2 group is investing in a high-performance and scalable IT infrastructure to accompany its growth.
DID YOU KNOW?
Since 2011, agap2 has assigned the printing of its communication materials to the specialised printing firm Papyrus. With a staff of 40, Papyrus is specialised in the specific operations relating to publishing and forwarding. Its teams made up of staff with disabilities complete all our orders. The note pads and notebooks that we use on a daily basis and our business cards and even our company newsletter are thus printed, cropped, glued, assembled and prepared for dispatch by hand by the team at Papyrus!

t h e f i g u r e 00 In 10 years: 2000 employees
A 4-year restructuring strategy in 4 main phases has been put in place:
• logical and physical architecture of all the group’s servers • harmonisation of the topology of the subsidiaries’ various local networks • IT security and interconnection system for all subsidiaries via Wide Area Network (WAN) technology known as VPN-MPLS (Virtual Private Network -MultiProtocol Label Switching) • set-up of a virtual environment for servers, backed up with a BCP/BRP plan (Business Continuity Plan/Business Resumption Plan) in the event of an incident.
We started with a full audit of each subsidiary in order to idenfy inconsistencies and define an acon plan.
The first stage was that of setting up a network platform for linking up all the subsidiaries. This solution made it possible to harmonise all the IT s stems, creatin almost 60% savin s
Finally, we worked on security requirements with the set-up of a private cloud ensuring the confidenality of the stored data.
agap2classified information involves for some types of projects. This private cloud has enabled us to roll out new business applications, it promotes the coming together and collaborative work of users based on separate remote sites. In the long term,agap2’s new IT system is more economical and represents a formidable catalyst of growth for the group.

PROFILE Medical Device Specialist Mehdi, consultant specialised in Medical Devices
Mehdi, a biomedical engineer, started his career as a production engineer in the medical sector where, among other things, he coordinated the installation and development of procedures for a clean room within the scope of a production site relocation.
Can you tell us about your project? I am currently working on a new auto-injector which should be launched on the market in 2016. Within the Process Engineering department, our main role is to convert the client’s requirements into process parameters, accounting for the design and feasibility.
Extensive discussions between the designers (R&D) and production are thus required to find the best compromise between cost and functionality. In parallel with this task, I am also in charge of business development. It is a strategic, inter-disciplinary department, bringing together design and production.
What are the specific aspects of the Medical Device sector? The FDA, the regulatory body that approves the launch of products on the US market, is very demanding and an ongoing challenge. As the patient is at the heart of the sector, we need to focus on the ergonomic functions of the products, without which we may fail to achieve FDA approval.
It is also a highly competitive sector. We
need to produce at the lowest cost to facilitate access to the greatest number of patients throughout the world. Hence the twofold stakes involved in my project: transferring a design reflecting patients’ needs to the production lines but at the lowest possible cost.
Do you currently have any work projects in mind? I would like to continue enjoying what I do, enhancing my knowledge of medical devices. I have worked on instruments for pacemakers, surgical implants for lower and upper limbs and the spinal column and now on auto-injectors. Rest assured, I have not had enough of it yet! I would like to continue to do what I love - managing medical device industrialisation projects with large budgets, continuing to work on the ground, talking to production operatives and understanding their constraints.
