Revue d'histoire de la pharmacie - Année 1989 - Volume 77 - Numéro 283 - Pages 333-338Use after 1777 of armorials granted to the Community of Spice Merchants and Apothecaries of Paris. The armorials granted in 1629 to the Community of Spice Merchants and Apothecaries of Paris adorned their tokens until April 1777. They were then abandoned by the pharmacists who left the Community to form a College of Pharmacy, but they continued to be used by spice dealers on tokens until at least 1853, and on their medals starting in 1888, and were carved over the doors of the Paris offices of their trade association, at 12 and 14 rue du Renard.
