" Is this true," is a question often asked by a child, after reading story. Perhaps isa it well, sometimes, to be able to answer this question in the affirmative. If it is possible to relate the history of remarkable persons in such a manner as to interest the young, such stories may create a better taste in reading than that which is formed by the constant perusal of fic- whichtion, is now employed not only in works intended for relaxation and amusement, but as a vehicle to inculcate the deepest principles of philosophy and religion.
