Richard P. FeynmanAcknowledgements
First of all, I want to thank my advisor Thomas Guhr for a great research
environment. His openness and willingness for scienti c discussion created
a unique atmosphere in which students and researchers alike can prosper
professionally as well as personally and his experience and knowledge about
physics was an invaluable guide during our scienti c quest. My special
thanks go to my second advisor, Boris Gutkin. With a lot of patience on
his side he let me participate in his deep understanding of physics ranging
from the foundations of quantum physics to general relativity. Particularly
in our combined e orts to understand the role of classical chaos in quantum
collective motion I was often astonished by his insights.
I thank all current and former members of our group, especially Michael
Munnix, Rudi Sch afer, Johannes Freese, Stefan Hindel, Mario Kieburg,
Christian Recher, Heiner Kohler, Vladimir Osipov and Thilo Schmitt for
a great working climate which was re ected in interesting discussions rang-
ing from physics to more trivial issues like the release of Apples newest
gimmick. In particular I want to thank Vladimir Osipov and Boris Gutkin
for our daily co ee break ritual in which I learned lots of physics as well
as many other interesting things ranging from history and politics to Rus-
sian, Latvian and Israeli culture. I owe thanks to my family, my mother
and brother, who encouraged me so much in life and helped me become the
person I am today. I also owe thanks to my good friends Matthias, Dennis,
Tobias and Sophie for their moral support. I thank Pania for being a very
special person in my life.
