This subject guide is designed as an aid to the quick location of specific areas of interest within
the body of knowledge produced from Foundation research. It covers the entire range of Foundation
Research published in English.
It is constructed as follows. Following the classified structure in part 1, the second part consists
of an arrangement of the reports listed ind order, based upon the ILO Thesaurus. The
third part is the alphabetical subject index, giving the ILO classification number of each term,
thus referring the enquirer back to the appropriate place within the classified sequence for fuller
information.
Example of usage: In the case where the user is seeking information on "Pension schemes":
1. Refer to alphabetical subject index to obtain ILO classification number of term (for "Pension
schemes" this is 02.03.2);
2. Then, refer to classified sequence at 02.03.2;
3. Under "Pension schemes" find a list (with page numbers where valid) of reports concerned
with this subject or having sections relevant to it.
N.B.: The first number of the report reference denotes the year of publication, e.g. EF/85/24/EN
would illustrate that this report was published in 1985.
Finally, the Appendix lists all the reports indexed within the Guide, arranged chronologically
by the Foundation's report number sequence. For those requiring to purchase or call up the reports
on a data base, it may be necessary to have available the Catalogue Number assigned by the
Office of Official Publications in Luxembourg and used by its official sales outlets, or the
appropriate ISBN. These have been given alongside the Foundation's report number and title
wherever they are available.
Other related reference tools include 'Catalogue of publications' and 'Price list of publications'
which are available from the Foundation on request. Page
