Description
The traditional centralized model of public telecommunications networks is today being shaken to the core by numerous centrifugal forces. Open networks are expanding, thus ending the dichotomy between the telecommunications sector and the rest of the economy. This new model is however not yet stabilized and several hypotheses remain open as to a future in which telecommunications networks may very well find themselves less specific - and less efficient.
