We will have an impressive two-day agenda of speakers, workshops and creative events, offered at a bargain price that includes meals, a night’s lodging, all programs, and even parking. Our four featured speakers are Dr. John Chiles on choices in recovery, Rev. Craig Rennebohm on working with homeless adults in Seattle, Judy Eron, MSW, on learning about mania in a loved one, and Lori Yates, MSW, on improvisational drama as a healing practice. All four are authors of nationally recognized books in mental health.Program topics include collaborating with schools, peer/consumer recovery successes, local and legislative advocacy, anti-stigma language, and practical personal support. At program sessions and at the Information Fair you’ll find an array of current materials, including research into brain disorders and recovery, crisis intervention training for law enforcement officers, and mental health outreach for faith communities. Also on display will be evidence of partnerships between NAMI and other groups focused on mental health and wellness in Washington State.We will have updates on current NAMI programs – Family to Family, Connection Recovery ...

“SHARING THE JOURNEY”
The National Alliance on Mental Illness, Washington State celebrates the thirtieth
anniversary of NAMI with a high-energy statewide conference Aug 7-8! We will have
an impressive two-day agenda of speakers, workshops and creative events, offered at a
bargain price that includes meals, a night’s lodging, all programs, and even parking.
Our four featured speakers are Dr. John Chiles on choices in recovery, Rev. Craig

introductions to new initiatives such as NAMI Basics, Provider Education, and Hearts
and Minds [cardiovascular and mental health]. Smarts and Hearts advocacy training will
be available on an advance sign-up basis. Participatory events include an art show by
peers/consumers, a drum circle, and optional music and movement times.
This Conference is a great opportunity to gather and learn, for teachers,
counselors and education administrators, juvenile and adult law enforcement and justice
officials, legislators and other elected officials, medical and mental health professionals,
faith community leaders - - anyone who is advocating for mental health, wellness and
recovery. An art show featuring works by talented consumers/PEERS will be offered.

Space is limited. Your early registration commitment encourages the conference committee and ensures a
successful conference. Please return completed registration form with full payment
prior to July 7, 2009
to
avoid
$30.00 late fee.
Early bird rate applies if registration received by June 1, 2009, for more information

Options – all participants must select one of the package options:
Full Package
- $195.00 per person double occupancy, or $215.00 single occupancy, includes tax,
parking permit and five meals.
Commuter Package
- $165.00 per person includes tax, parking permit and four meals.
One Day Package
- $115.00 per person for either Friday or Saturday includes tax, parking permit
and two meals.
Lodging will be on campus in one of the residence halls. There is no elevator in the residence hall. Limited
ground floor rooms will be available to physically impaired participants. All beddings and towels will be
provided. You do need to bring your own toiletries. No telephone, TV and air-conditioning in the sleeping
rooms. You may bring a fan. Shared bathrooms located at the opposite end of each floor. Bring comfortable
shoes for walking and light weight casual clothes for campus. You may need a light jacket for evening
breeze or in air-conditioned classrooms. CWU food service will accommodate vegetarians. Be sure to
specify it on your registration form. If you are on a strict diet, you may wish to bring your own food
supplement.
Return form and payment to: CWU Conference Program, 400 E. University Way, Ellensburg, WA 98926-
7592, or fax form and credit card information to 509-963-1285. Written cancellation notice received by the
CWU Conference Program by 5 p.m. on August 5th receives a refund less the $25.00 cancellation fee.
Please allow 4-6 weeks for process. After August 5
th
, all fees paid will be forfeited. Substitution will be
accepted without penalty.

you. On-site check in will be held in the Vantage Room, Conference Program Registration Office on August
7, 10am to noon. Parking permit, meal pass and keys will be issued upon arrival.
