The amazing career of a homéopathe philanthropist Fourierist, Benoît-Jules Mure (1808-1858).
With a large humanitarian activity held in the field of homeopathy in Egypt and Brazil, Mure developed among the 19th century homeopathists, some specific pharmacodynamic theories. Starting from the atom structure, he argued that the pharmacological activity in terms of health benefits is unpredictable because of the extreme complexity of the living material as well as of individual parameters known as idiosyncrasies. He stood in opposition with the official and academic authorities.
Connu par son activité philanthropique et médicale au Brésil et en Égypte, les théories pharmaco-dynamiques de Mure sont originales dans le courant scientifique de l'homéopathie développé au XIXe siècle. S'appuyant sur la théorie atomique de l'infiniment petit, il en dégage l'idée des idiosyncrasies associée à la complexité inaccessible de la matière vivante pour expliquer la réussite thérapeutique des médicaments homéopathiques. Ainsi, il s'oppose aux théories médicales et chimiques des Facultés, contestant la suprématie donnée aux seuls critères mesurables.
