The Countess of Segur and child health.
The medical care of children holds an important place in the works of Sophie Rostopchine, Countess of Segur (1799- 1874). This is not surprising when one realizes that she wrote a ninety-page treatise on child health (1856 ; 2nd ed. 1860). The author of the article gives a summary of childhood illnesses and their treatments in the Countess' works.
