Anlässlich einer neulichen Broschüre Dr. Zuring's zu diesem Thema macht der Verfasser auf verschiedene Darstellungen der heiligen Cosmas und Damian auf der Insel Mallorca aufmerksam und gibt davon einen Kommentar. Einen besonderen Interessenwert besitzt ein Holzschnitt (15.- 16Jh.) wo die beiden von anatomischen Votivgaben begleitet sind. Wichtig ist auch das Gemälde aus dem 18. Jahrhundert welches in der alten Apotheke der Kartäuse von Valldemosa aufbewahrt ist ; es zeigt Sie in reger medizinisch-pharmazeutischer Tätigkeit.
On the trail of Saints Cosmas and Damian in Majorca.
A propos of a recent brochure by Dr Zuring on this subject, the author notes and comments on different representations of Saints Cosmas and Damian on the island of Majorca. Particularly worthy of interest is a woodblock engraving (XV-XVI century) where they are shown accompanied by anatomicals ex-voto. Equally important is the 18th century painting preserved in the ancient monastery pharmacy of the Chartreuse of Valldemosa, which shows them in full medical-pharmaceutical activity.
