Eurostat ist das Statistische Amt der Europäischen Gemeinschaften. Es hat den Auftrag, der Europäischen
Union hochwertige statistische Informationen bereitzustellen. Dazu sammelt und analysiert Eurostat Daten
der nationalen statistischen Ämter in Europa und liefert vergleichbare und harmonisierte Daten über die Eu-
ropäische Union, zum Zweck der Entwicklung, Durchführung und Analyse der Gemeinschaftspolitiken. Die
statistischen Produkte und Dienstleistungen von Eurostat sind auch von großer Bedeutung für Unternehmen,
Berufsverbände, Wissenschaft, Bibliothekare, Nichtregierungsorganisationen, Medien und Bürger.
Das Veröffentlichungsprogramm von Eurostat besteht aus folgenden Sammlungen:
• Pressemitteilungen liefern neueste Informationen über Euro-Indikatoren und über soziale, ökonomi-
sche, regionale, landwirtschaftliche oder ökologische Themen.
• Statistische Bücher sind größere A4-Veröffentlichungen mit statistischen Daten und Analysen.
• Pocketbooks (Taschenbücher) sind kostenlose Veröffentlichungen, die Benutzern eine Auswahl we-
sentlicher Daten über ein spezifisches Thema geben.
• Statistik kurz gefasst liefern aktuelle Daten und weitere Informationen über die Ergebnisse von Erhe-
bungen, Studien und statistischen Analysen.
• Daten kurz gefasst liefern neueste Statistiken einschließlich methodologischer Anmerkungen.
• Methodologies and Working papers (Methodologien und Arbeitspapiere) sind technische Veröffentli-
chungen für statistische Experten, die auf einem speziellen Gebiet arbeiten.
Veröffentlichungen von Eurostat können über den EU-Bookshop (http://bookshop.europa.eu) bestellt werden.
Alle Veröffentlichungen können auch kostenlos im PDF-Format von der Eurostat Website http://ec.europa.eu/
eurostat heruntergeladen werden. Die Webseite bietet zudem freien Zugriff auf Eurostat Datenbanken, sowie
auf statistische Tabellen mit den am häufigsten verwendeten kurz - und langfristigen Indikatoren.
Eurostat hat mit den Mitgliedern des ‘europäischen statistischen Systems’ (ESS) ein Netzwerk von Benutzer-
betreuungszentren aufgebaut, das fast alle Mitgliedstaaten sowie einige EFTA-Länder umfasst. Es leistet Hilfe
und gibt Anleitung bei der Benutzung statistischer Daten von Eurostat. Kontaktadressen für diese Benutzer-

Eurostat is the Statistical Office of the European Communities. Its mission is to provide the European Union
with high-quality statistical information. For that purpose, it gathers and analyses figures from the national sta-
tistical offices across Europe and provides comparable and harmonised data for the European Union to use
in the definition, implementation and analysis of Community policies. Its statistical products and services are
also of great value to Europe’s business community, professional organisations, academics, librarians, NGOs,
the media and citizens.
Eurostat’s publications programme consists of several collections:
• News releases provide recent information on the Euro-Indicators and on social, economic, regional,
agricultural or environmental topics.
• Statistical books are larger A4 publications with statistical data and analysis.
• Pocketbooks are free of charge publications aiming to give users a set of basic figures on a specific
topic.
• Statistics in focus provides updated summaries of the main results of surveys, studies and statistical
analysis.
• Data in focus present the most recent statistics with methodological notes.
• Methodologies and working papers are technical publications for statistical experts working in a par-
ticular field.

eu/eurostat. Furthermore, Eurostat’s databases are freely available there, as are tables with the most frequen-
tly used and demanded short- and long-term indicators.
Eurostat has set up with the members of the ‘European statistical system’ (ESS) a network of user support
centres which exist in nearly all Member States as well as in some EFTA countries. Their mission is to provide
help and guidance to Internet users of European statistical data. Contact details for this support network can
be found on Eurostat Internet site.

Eurostat est l’office statistique des Communautés européennes. Il a pour tâche de rassembler et d’analyser
les chiffres provenant des différents instituts européens de statistique afin de fournir des données compara-
bles et harmonisées à l’Union européenne, indispensables à la définition, à la mise en œuvre et à l’évaluation
des politiques communautaires. Ses produits et services statistiques constituent également des outils très
précieux pour les entreprises, les organisations professionnelles, les universitaires, les documentalistes, les
organisations non gouvernementales, les médias et les citoyens à travers l’Europe.
Le programme de publications d’Eurostat est constitué de plusieurs collections:
• Les Communiqués de presse fournissent des informations récentes sur les Euro-indicateurs et cou-
vrent des sujets liés aux domaines social, économique, régional, agricole et environnemental.
• Les Livres statistiques: ces publications de format A4 contiennent une analyse des données statisti-
ques qui y sont présentées.
• Les Pocketbooks sont des ouvrages gratuits de la taille d’un livre de poche qui visent à donner au
lecteur un ensemble de données de base sur un sujet spécifique.
• Les Statistiques en bref offrent des résumés mis à jour des principaux résultats issus d’enquêtes,
d’études et d’analyses statistiques.
• Les Données en bref présentent des statistiques récentes accompagnées de notes méthodologiques.
• Les Méthodologies et working papers sont des publications à caractère technique destinées aux
experts d’un domaine particulier.

Toutes les publications peuvent être téléchargées gratuitement, en format PDF, à partir du site internet d’Euro-
stat. Vous y trouverez également toutes les bases de données d’Eurostat disponibles gratuitement, ainsi que
des tableaux avec les indicateurs conjoncturels et structurels les plus utilisés et demandés.
Eurostat a mis en place, conjointement avec les membres du Système statistique européen (SSE), un réseau
de centres d’appui qui couvre presque tous les États membres et certains pays de l’Association européenne
de libre échange (AELE). Leur mission est d’aider et d’orienter les utilisateurs qui se procureront des données
statistiques européennes sur l’internet.
