Programme Progress Report - JRC Ispra Establishment July- December 1980 Remote Sensing from Space Abstract This Is the first progress report of the 4 years (1980-1983) research programme "Remote Sensing from Space" carried out at the JRC Ispra Establishment of the Joint Research Centre of the European Communities. As a natural continuation of the Remote Sensing part of the preceding programme "Environment and Resources" (1977-1980), this research is focusing in pilot-projects desmonstrating possible applications in monitoring of sea pollution, agricultural resources and land use. In the same time the JRC Ispra is acting as a focal point for coordination and dissemination of all relevant information to European investigators in these fields. In the field of Agriculture the TELLUS project on soil moisture using data from the HCMM (Explorer 1 satellite) is officially ending with the final report to NASA.
