Introduction An important problem in fusion technology is the desorption of particles, which are adsorbed on the surface by physical or chemical forces or are absorbed in the bulk of the plasma surrounding wall. During the first starting up of any fusion reactor or fusion experiment large amounts of particles will be desorbed by thermal energy, by the impact of charged and neutral par­ticles and by radiation.
