Description
The romantic era is defined by the particular view that it gives of the preceding eras. In examining the romantic posterity of Claude-Nicolas Ledoux, Nicolas Molok is able to rely on the enigmatic evocation mode by french architecture, or rather on its double Piranèse, in an essay that is central to nascent Russian philosophy, Russian Nights by Odoievski. However, Ledoux provides above all the opportunity for N. Molok to study the problem posed by architectural expression and its transmutation in to language. The notion of expressive architecture appears to be a creation of French romantic architecture.
