Description
The application of the new X Ray technic called Radiochromodensito- .graphy to the mummy of Ramses II allowed the author to discover that the cervical rachis had been deliberately broken during the process of mummification because the body of the Pharaoh, who had Spondylarthritis, could not be arranged in the right lying position without this intervention. This new technic helped them as well to examine the regions of the nose and of the thorax ; they found pepper in the nose, maintained by résine and they discovered the heart in the thorax, heart which was supposed to have been sent for dissection to Professor Lortet in Lyon at the beginning of the century.
