In order to make a contribution to maintaining the social dialogue and to provide the information required for
directing the social policy of the European Union, social statistics must continually adjust to current
developments. It was with this objective in mind that the Mondorf-les-Bains Seminar was created by Eurostat
in February 1994. The purpose was to allow a free and informal discussion between high level statisticians
from Members States, officials from the Commission directorates involved and representatives of university
research workers, on the adjus
