Executive Summary he electronic enablement and management of supplier content, messaging, and transactions remain the bane of many procurement and supply management im- provement initiatives. To overcome these challenges, leading enterprises are ena-T bling suppliers through a variety of Internet-based solutions, including catalog management tools, content syndication hubs, supplier networks and marketplaces, Inter- net-based EDI networks, and Web-based supplier portals. Aberdeen’s latest benchmark research into supplier enablement shows that enterprises using such approaches will en- able more suppliers, lower their costs and burdens, and improve spend management and cost performance. Key Business Value Findings This benchmark examined the supplier enablement processes, activities, benefits, short- comings and technology use of 120 enterprises. Here are some key findings: • There is more emphasis on supplier enablement. More than two-thirds of our survey respondents ─ 69% ─ say their companies’ emphasis on supplier enable- ment has increased over the last three years; only 4% say it has decreased. • Most enterprises have established supplier enablement programs.
