The Committee was set up to involve the various economic and social interest groups in the establishment of the Common Market and give them an institutional vehicle for putting across their point of view on various issues to the Commission and the Council. These viewpoints are expressed in the shape of Opinions or Reports, adopted by the Plenary Sessions.
