Add onlythefullstops(.),exclamationmarks(!)orquestionmarks (?) to
the sentence or passage.Full stop/Period: At the end of a sentence, usually the end ofstatements. Also used at the end of abbreviations, e.g.Mrs.Smith Exclamation mark: Use!to show strong emotion, e.g. surprise, fright, a command, anger, excitement. Used at the end ofexclamationand commandsentences. Question mark: Use?when a question is asked. Lookout for these words at the beginning of a sentence:May, Can, Will, Is, Was, Were, Are, Am, Why, What, How, When, Where, Does, Do, At what… Used at the end of aquestion. Step 2:the necessary capital letters. Add Beginning of a sentence and after a period/full stop- every sentence starts with a capital letter.
Proper Nounsspecial namesof people, places, books, magazines, towns, countries, days
of the week, months, films, planets, brands, company names, races, nationalities, religions,
special occasions, street names etc.always start with a capital letter.
Relative’s family nameswhen used without their proper name, e.g.We visited
Grandmotherat the hotel”, but “We visitedgrandmotherGwenat the hotel”.
Titles and abbreviations of Titles-“Mister Smith is our Science teacher.” or“Mr. Smith is our
Science teacher.”

Do not capitalize the following;
animals, foods, heavenly bodies (beside the planetsEarth, Jupiter, Mars), plants,
vegetables, fruit and seasons,unlessit contains aproper nounorproper adjective, e.g.
Bengal tiger, Jerusalem artichoke, German shepherd.
