The Arthurian folk tales are a collection of many legends involving King Arthur, his knights, and other people connected with Camelot, his headquarters. Some of these legends are about the Lady of the Lake, the Knights of the Round Table, Galahad’s quest, and many others.

The Lady of the Lake, in some stories, is the foster-mother who raised Sir Lancelot beneath the murky waters of her lake. However, she is best known presenting the magical sword Excalibur to King Arthur.

This was through the intervention of Merlin, the magician who was the king’s advisor. Merlin was always worried that Arthur’s kingdom might fail because of a defeat in battle.
