Sometime about eleven (11) years ago, I started writing this story about Kwiyumi. I didn't know when this story would be in the hands of my readership in the form of a published book.  At the time, even though I was close to my retirement as a teacher, I had hardly seen the publishers of the time interested in publishing this kind of book. The publishing of school books was their main focus. Probably right so. My nephew, Rogers Nforgwei, was promoting books. I was yet to imagine him getting involved in publishing soon, talk less of being the publisher of my own book!  Suddenly Rogers did not only become a publisher, but a fast moving publishing star! I observed with pleasure and satisfaction the development of my son in an industry not so popular in Cameroon at the time. One day as we conversed, I told him about this book. Then three years ago, he called for the manuscript. I let him take his time. I refrained from using my father-authority to pressurise him with questions on the progress of the work.  I was overwhelmed with joy at his usual sense and power of focus and commitment when he phoned me in mid 2010 and briefed me on the progress of the work. Then phone calls and correspondences multiplied between his publishing staff and me. In January 2011 when he phoned asking for my CV and profile, I felt I had realised my last major achievement and could now happily await the Lord's call.
On the night of 05 February, Rogers spoke to me four times on phone between 9pm and 11:30pm as he did the last touches on the book before it left for printing. I had a baby-like sleep on this night even though the anxiety of seeing the finished product would nearly kill me before I see the book!  I am grateful to my elder nephew, Dr Sammy Nforgwei who rested in the Lord shortly before this book was finished. He organised the computer version of this book from the original manuscript that was typed on the today-obsolete-classical typewriter machine of my days. Special thanks go to Mr Ngwayi Pius for his wonderful contributions.  I am thankful to my wife, Eunice for coping with my late nights.  I am immensely grateful to all who read and re-read over and over as well as to the dedicated staff of NMI Education who worked on this book. I am informed of the contributions of Dr Mrs Eunice Ngongkum, Mr Harry Kucha Kucha, Mr Tabi, Mrs Theresia Njong, Mr Raymond Ndjofang Bagzé, Ms Gisele Mela, Ms Boma Chantal and Mrs Tabe Enonchong. Rogers, as for you, I am simply proud of you.
Enoch Tata Nforgwei Author
Foreword  Happening between two provinces (North and South West), today known as regions, of Cameroon; provinces of the then West Cameroon, the story of Kwiyumi, the protagonist inThe Royal Mailis set in several villages and cities and in various homes and against the backdrop of the colonial era of Messrs Goodman and Brown.  In an extremely creative manner, the author employs the descriptive stylistics, using verbatim translations from Limbum, his African native language, to English to create imageries that make his story sufficiently vivid to transport the reader into the times of the events in narrative. In this regard,The Royal Mailalmost serves as a history book that takes the reader to the colonial era depicted therein.  Successfully arresting the reader's attention with his style, the author tells us how Kwiyumi from his birth, through the foster parents and passing through many hands, including even those of mystical beings, ghosts, in growing up faced ups and downs. At one time he is blessed and happy, the other time he is suffering some mishap.  In a melange of a not-so-a-classic tragedy and an ordinary story of common phenomena of life, the author garnishes the main story of Kwiyumi and dilutes the painful situations with
humorously told sub stories. Whether through the Kwiyumi's story or through the sub stories, Enoch Tata Nforgwei successfully teaches his audience the rewards of honesty and perseverance in challenging circumstances.  Powerfully built on a foundation of cause and effect,The Royal Mailsuspense that fans the reader's sensecreates a lot of of imagination and curiosity such that even at the end he/she is looking out for a part two of the story.
