It is my hope that those who love architecture as I do will find my story and my designs engaging. I had the opportunity to work with some of the finest architects in history, and for that, I am grateful and long to share what I have learned with the world. For those who are not particularly interested in architecture, this book may also be appealing. I hope the reader can find inspiration here for all the ways in which it shows how everyone has the potential to realize the American Dream, regardless of where they are from or how long they have struggled through their circumstances. I am grateful to those who believed in me along the way: my family, my professors and, of course, my clients.

Why an Architect?
It would be fair to say that for most people, the services of an architect are unnecessary. House plans and interior layouts can be easily obtained from magazines, which offer thousands of choices—from “trendy” to “traditional.”
There are, however, some people who wisely seek the services of a good architect.
