What are Mob Farms Mob Farms are structures that are built and used in order to help the player have mob drops more efficiently. The elements of a good and viable mob farm are the following:
1. A standard structure called a farm;
2. A mob grinder that is used in order to kill mobs more easily;
3. A room that is used in order to summon or spawn the mobs that will be grinded by the mob grinder; and
4. A mechanism that is used to funnel the mobs that was summoned or spawned by the room into a single location so that the mob grinder will be able to kill them more efficiently.
How to Build a Farm on Key and Viable Locations
Remember that the function of the farm is to be able to create a specific area where mobs will be easily summoned or spawned. These caverns that are unlit give you other option places where you can spawn or summon mobs apart from your usual places for spawning and summoning.
Also, keep in mind that underground farms have a drop rate that is time independent. This means that the range of your spawning or summoning hostile mobs will remain as is.

The thing that you have to remember in building a mob farm on the sky is that you always have to stay at the original height of your farm. By doing this, you will be able to produce loot. The main advantage of a sky farm is that it has the capability of spawning and summoning mobs in both day and night.
