Sample Book Insights:
#1 The art of the universe, on earth, and in our bodies, is to reflect God’s glory. The point of it all is God’s glory.
#2 We must constantly remind ourselves of God’s greatness. We are constantly distracted by what we don’t have, and we forget that we already have everything we need in God.
#3 God is holy, eternal, and all-knowing. We cannot comprehend all of who He is, but we must recognize that He is completely different from us and beyond our comprehension.
#4 God is all-powerful. We live as though God is created for us to do our bidding, to bless us, and to take care of our loved ones. But in reality, God has more of a right to ask us why so many people are starving.

Insights from Chapter 1

#1

The art of the universe, on earth, and in our bodies, is to reflect God’s glory. The point of it all is God’s glory.

#2

We must constantly remind ourselves of God’s greatness. We are constantly distracted by what we don’t have, and we forget that we already have everything we need in God.

#3

God is holy, eternal, and all-knowing. We cannot comprehend all of who He is, but we must recognize that He is completely different from us and beyond our comprehension.

#4

God is all-powerful. We live as though God is created for us to do our bidding, to bless us, and to take care of our loved ones. But in reality, God has more of a right to ask us why so many people are starving.

#5

God is the only Being who is good, and the standards are set by Him. Because God hates sin, He has to punish those guilty of it. God never excuses sin, and He is always consistent with that ethic.

#6

God is beyond our comprehension. He is not contained in this world, and cannot be explained by our vocabulary. Yet in Revelation 4 and Isaiah 6, we get two distinct glimpses of the heavenly throne room.

#7

The throne room of God is described in the book of Isaiah. It is filled with smoke and wings that call out to one another. The seraphim bring Isaiah a piece of burning coal that had been smoldering on the altar. His guilt is taken away.
