Description

In the 1850s, "Red" a cardsharp/conman works the Mississippi River on one of the premier steamboats of the era. Pretending to be a rich rice and indigo buyer, Red entices various men into his card game. He plays poker over whist. Poker is the new game on the river and there are many who want to try their luck. Red moves the money around with his sleight of hand and siphons off as much or as little as he wants. He makes sure that the men playing in his game don't feel cheated. But then comes the day that he wins too much from one cotton planter and has to face the consequences.
