Pathisa Nyathi was born in Sankonjana, Kezi, in 1951. He was a teacher, lecturer and head teacher before becoming an Education Officer in 1996. Recently retired from being the Deputy Provincial Education Director for Matabeleland North, he is a published poet, playwright, historian and biographer. He is a columnist for the Sunday News,Umthunywa,The Sunday MirrorandSky Host, as well as being Vice Chair of the Zimbabwe Academic and Non-Fiction Authors Association and a Board Member for a number of organizations.
