Dedication I dedicate this book to my lovely mum, Anyingoh Esther and my late dad, Efualajong Tatuh Stephen whose demise had been felt by every member of the family. To my lovely daughter, Esther Folefac whose loving smiles has given me a lot of inspiration. My appreciation goes to my alma mater-Presbyterian comprehensive secondary school Buea, for building the foundation of education through to my parent educatory; the University of Buea, which have led to what I am today. To Ayealefac Kejang and his family, for being there for me when all hope seemed to have been lost. To Tazisong Christopher and his family for putting me back to track when I seemed to have lost my way. To all my mates and colleagues, especially Christopher Finch and Albert Somi Cyril for their candy and friendship, that was spiced with lots of humour. To my beloved mum and siblings, for their support and encouragement. Most importantly, to you my readers, for liking my book and buying a copy and not pirating it. I hold you all close to my heart.
About the Author I was born in a small village call Muyenge which situates in the southwest region of Cameroon. Their major produce are cocoa, cocoyams, plantain and other cash crops. The economy in this village is very booming but they lack roads and other facilities to transport their crops to the market. I went through my nursery and primary school in this village before moving to Buea where I completed the rest of my education. I’m blessed with my precious mum, Anyingoh Esther who worked hard enough to see me through school together with my siblings after the demise of my father in 2001. In 2011, I published my first book titled Narrow Mistake with Xlibris cooperation in the USA.
About the book Duce Kingdom is a compelling mythical story of magic, sacrilege and violence, written in fine style of both the first and third person dialogue and narration. The story commenced with the rage of darkness that poised the land through to the official inauguration of the king, their frustrations due to the tightness of their laws for kingdom sake and tradition, which had shattered their freedom. The Sacrifices of virgins they made to their gods, wars, romance and beheadings of criminals, which made their future almost uncertain. The story continues with the blending of the old and ancient evil and black magic from the forgotten corners of the planet that throbbed and how they resisted-the yesteryears of tradition and how it saw its revolution by the birth of a powerful sorcerer, Zalinda who redeemed the kingdom from its woes.
Chapter 1 The new age Rage of darkness leep was meant to rest the bones and refresh the flesh-S dreams to go beyond imaginations, to somewhere in the empty; for fun, omen and ancestral blessings, where fantasies in the realms were reverted to realities, making the impossible possible in the world of wonders. Not this age, not this land called Duce kingdom. It was close to night, the cloud quickly paraded the sky, saluting the land, bathing the atmosphere and reminding the sun to end its shift and go to sleep. No one knew why, no one could explain, nature had made it clear and reserved its explanations, scheduling every darkness and light to enchant the hours, and hide the unseen from hurting humans. Not this time, the temple bells rang alarming with intimidation; very loud, reminding the indigenes that night was at hand. They were at the squares of all the cities, villages and towns going about with their businesses. Three masquerades trotted past everywhere in the cities, sending the indigenes into their homes. Then came from somewhere beyond, somewhere above the realms of empty and along the horizon, a billow of darkness which covered the land in thick fog of an angry weather. Like allies, a strong and violent storm went across Duce sweeping every loose mass and putting off all the candles that lit the land in fury. No one had any choice, not even the queen Josephine and they resorted to resting in the comfort of their beds sleeping. A voice whispers from
