days. Learn to Read the Holy
On Day 1 you study the Arabic consonants, including their different
forms: for example, 'ayn = ع ﻊـ ـﻌــ ـﻋ. On Day 2 you study the vowels,
short ( ب /ba/ ) and long ( ﺎﺑ /bā/ ). On Day 3 you focus on sukūn, Qur’an in 7 Days
tanwīn, and shadda ( بر /rabbi/ = ﺐ ــﺑر /rabbi/ ).
From Day 4, you will no more wonder which vowel to use when A Special Course for Busy People
starting the reading on a word like ﴾ اﻮ ﺒرٱ ﴿ / r bū/, ﴾ دﺪﺷٱ ﴿
/ shd/, or ﴾ ﺮ ﺒﺻٱ ﴿ / sr/, nor how to link the sounds in a phrase

On Day 5 you study every sign used in the Madīna copy, including
the following:


Day 6 offers you tajwīd tools to properly apply madd, as in ﴾ ء َﻵﺆـﻫ ﴿,
idghām with or without ghunna, as in ﴾ ﻢ ﻬﺑر  ﻦﻣ  ىﺪﻫ ﴿, etc. On Day 7
you acquire grammatical hints for further fluency, learning—among
other things—why the same word takes different ending vowels, for
instance ﴾ ٱ ﻞﻌﺟ ﴿, ﴾ ٱ نإ  ﴿, ﴾ ٱ ﻰﻠﻋ ﴿ (h , h , h ).

Ample illustrations and exercises are added to facilitate your study.
A former employee of Guinea’s department of Industry
and Trade in Conakry, Mahmoud Bensaid Bah, Ph.D., is
an agro-economist from Tottori University, Japan. Since
1999 he runs a language business in Matsue. Imam of the
Shimane Muslims Association and former editor in chief of the
Journal of Islamic Guidance (al-Irshaad), Dr. Bah has published
over ten books, including Scientifi c Research and Scholarly Writing
in Islam and Glimpses of Life After Death. He has a 34-year teaching
experience, starting at the Agronomy College of Dalaba, Guinea.
