Dolphins are among the most fascinating water creatures. They are also considered one of the most intelligent.

1.There are about 38 species of dolphins which are subdivided into three categories. These are the humpbacked dolphins, the ocean dolphins and the river dolphins.
2.Dolphins are native to the sea and oceans. But they are also found in large river systems.
3.The male dolphin is called a bull while the female is called a cow. A baby dolphin is called a calf.
4.Dolphins communicate with each other through high frequency sounds; this form of communication is called echolocation. They also use these sounds to locate food and navigate through the water.
