Dedication
I dedicate this book to God, the Creator of heaven and earth. I give him all the glory that belongs to him. He is the maker and true source of inspiration thanks to his perfection based system, the supreme stage of creative thinking and action that charts a course for the world and human life.
Foreword
African literature has just been enriched with the publication of a new book born from the fertile mind of Dr ESSOUSSE Erik, an epic with a revealing title,Perfect Fundamental Values and the Development of Africa. From renaissance to illumination.
The author’s ambitious goal is an inclusive development of Africa. This goal can be reached using a succession of perfect fundamental values as reference system. The goal is as lofty as it is established at the supreme stage of divine perfection. The kind of development advocated by ESSOUSSE Erik for his continent, Africa, is a super-creation. However, God is the supreme Creator. The new African, created in the image of God must rise towards his creator with all the virtues he 1 embodies, to take full control of his destiny.
The editorial comment of the book is downright theocentric. That is why, it is dedicated directly to God, the Creator of heaven and earth, who constitutes its true source of inspiration. Had Africa, the cradle of humanity, not set the example, in bygone days, of an outstanding rise through the incredible civilisation of Negro-Pharaohnic Egypt, mistress of Greece and the Romans? From this glorious ancient history, the author retraces the evolution of the planet’s inhabitants, sustained by great evolution of minds, the best of which are of religious order like Judaism, Christianity and Islam, not excluding Asians with their age-old divinities. ESSOUSSE Erik affirms that the strength of spiritual reflection is the same for all religions, including animism, mysticism and magic!
Nevertheless, as a Christian and son of a pastor, he gives more importance to Christianity whose teachings built the shield of a Western world, which is now the almighty and undisputed master of the entire world. As a matter of fact, ESSOUSSE Erik’s father is Pastor TJECK Amos, a well-read man and staunch believer of the 20th century. He

attended the French Protestant Mission Teachers’ Training School of (MPF)) of Ndoungué, a twin institution to the American Protestant Mission Teacher’s Training School (MPA) in Foulassi. It is here that the rallying cry, now Cameroon’s national anthem, was composed in 1928. It must be noted however that Amos TJECK was an excellent teacher. The students trained with diligence usually scored 100% at official examinations in the colonial era. It is but normal therefore that his son, Erik, christened, “Child of Light” by my wife, is today a master of excellence by the grace of God, thanks to his moral uprightness and effective intellectual and professional abilities.
Serious ailments call for serious measures! Under-development is a serious ailment. But this ailment is not incurable. Our author believes it can be eradicated, provided we follow the salutary path of opening our minds to Teachings that plumb the depths of ignorance, mediocrity and misery. In this regard, the author prescribes the renaissance of African teachings. This is a far-reaching programme that requires resources of divine essence from which must emerge a superman, equipped with perfect values described by the author as perfect fundamental values. This expression is an ontology of creativity drawn from an apodictic knowledge. Knowledge acquired from training, education, culture and fundamental research.
Human evolution has nowadays attained the utmost level of growth that constitutes an inexhaustible mine of resources from which Africa must draw to rise again. ESSOUSSE Erik borrows constructive elements thereof, which he uses with remarkable dexterity to posit the magnificent fabric Africa needs to achieve a sense of wellbeing and happiness. This is dubbed, ‘Renaissance of African Illumination’ by the author. A wide-ranging project that needs highly-skilled actors, alluding to the thought-provoking sources of perfect fundamental values.
To get a good grasp of his broad research scope, the author takes his readers on a marvellous cultural jaunt whose historic overview is nearly encyclopaedic. The substance of his book is derived from a cross-spectrum of scientific fields such as theology, philosophy, history, geography, ethics and aesthetics, mysticism, magic, just to name a few. Such intellect is no pointless grandiloquence. It rather reflects the prowess of genius, which snatches the soul from mediocrity to commit it to perfect fundamental values. From this emerges the pyramid of invention and innovation that constitutes the reference system worth

consulting before any attempt at development. This influences the author to state that development is not only an economic issue bound to uncontrolled growth in view of sensual pleasure and luxury. The moral input borne by the decency of Africa’s Social Education must humanise the frantic quest for wealth just for the sake wealth.
The ensuing renaissance is a passageway to systematic, judicious and rational growth. It must be purged of all the flaws of inertia, nonchalance and indolence. It’s a vigorous action that demands a craftsmanship capable of producing tangible results, source of progress and prosperity. It relies on community solidarity for a collective production, the fruit of each and every one of us. Ultimately, we’ll end up great and proud for having participated in the natural creation of wealth meant for equitable distribution. The renaissance of teachings is intended to restore homogeneity in the African society, the bedrock of equality and fraternity.
According to ancestral wisdom every fall must be analysed from the spot where we tripped. Mindful of this, ESSOUSSE Erik takes a step back to find out what caused the fall of Africa, in order to overcome the hurdles ahead, through an instant awakening of everyone, and cautious strive for a better future. The lecture given in this comprehensive book enjoins Africa to wake up from slumber and embark a challenging but exalting future. Resourcing through perfect fundamental values elevates us to God the creator and provider of a noble life void of all flaws, through superior knowledge, a source of excellence. Yaounde, 20th October 2017 Simon Bolivar NJAMI-NWANDI Pastor and African patriarch
