That Section 33­5205, Idaho Code, be, and the same is hereby amended to7 read as follows:8 33­5205. PETITION T O EST ABLISH PUBLIC CHAR TER SCHOOL. (1) Any group9 of persons may petition to establish a new public charter school, or to convert an existing10 traditional public school to a public charter school.1 1 (a) A petition to establish a new public charter school, including a public virtual charter12 school, shall be signed by not fewer than thirty (30) qualified electors of the attendance13 area designated in the petition. Proof of elector qualifications shall be provided with the14 petition.15 (b) A petition to establish a new public virtual school must be submitted directly to the16 public charter school commission. A petition to establish a new public charter school,17 other than a new public virtual school, shall first be submitted to the local board of18 trustees in which the public charter school will be located.
