Bac 2018 Épreuve de LV2 anglais Séries L‐ES‐S Un sujet portant sur l’icône du taxi Londonien. Deux textes et une image, comme dans la plupart des sujets, le premier étant un article de presse et le second un extrait de roman. Là encore, un sujet de forme très classique.

F2. The two protagonists are planning to drive a long distance in an original car. There are lots of uncertain elements, and they seem very unprepared. They will need to improvise in front of difficulties, that’s why the term “adventure” seems appropriate.

G2. Leigh seems like a very spontaneous person, but also someone who may be a bit light‐headed and not quite reliable.

M. The artist may have wanted to choose a popular setting in order to stress the universal dimension of the cab. The stern brick wall also makes an interesting contrast to the fun concept of a balloon cab.

N. Documents A and C consider the cab as an institution, an essential part of the British culture. In document B, the cab is taken as a vehicle for adventure, and this aspect is also reflected in document C.

Partie Expression

1. Le sujet est de type narratif. On vous demande de prolonger la situation décrite dans le document B. Il est donc important d'avoir relativement bien compris l’essentiel de ce document.

Vous devez utiliser la forme du journal intime. Il semble impératif de dater le passage, et de situer géographiquement l’action. Il serait peut‐être bon de parler des compétences mécaniques de Leigh. Sont‐ elles à la hauteur de ce qu’il dit ?

2. Sujet de type argumentatif. Il faut analyser la citation et construire une réflexion. Faites un plan (introduction, développement, conclusion). Il s’agit d’évoquer les bienfaits du voyage, et comment ce dernier permet de renforcer les liens d’amitié avec les personnes qui nous accompagnent. Vous pourriez comparer ce type d’expérience avec le voyage en solitaire, qui a d’autres vertus.

F. He means that a GPS will only take you from one place to another, but cab drivers also enable their patrons to have a human experience, and a device will never replace that.

G – K.Comme pour les séries ES – S

L1. They see cab drivers as extroardinary people who are responsible for a whole aspect of the British culture, so they probably admire them.

L2. Their itinerary is greatly influenced by how they think a real cab driver would behave. They choose a very indirect route, because cab drivers have a reputation of taking longer itineraries in order to make more money.

LVO 1 et 2, LVA 1:Comme pour les séries ES – S

LVA, 2: Un sujet argumentatif qui nécessite d’analyser la citation de Ray Bradbury (auteur deBrave New World). Il faut noter le paradoxe apparent qu’un auteur de fiction parle de la beauté du monde réel par rapport à l’imaginaire. On peut ensuite disserter de la supériorité de l’un par rapport à l’autre, mais on peut aussi s’interroger sur la nécessité de VOIR. Vous pourrez ainsi parler du bonheur d’aller voir de ses propres yeux, de comparer ce que nous avions vu en images et ce que nous voyons en vrai. Les bonnes copies feront à mon avis la différence sur ce point.
